OUR HISTORY

The story of Leotrans begins more than 80 years ago, when Ioannis Moumtzoglou and his family fled from the small city of Niğde in Asia Minor and arrived in Greece in quest of a new beginning.

Shortly after, in 1930, a Joint Venture between the Heavy Tipper Truck Owners of Piraeus was set up, which began its operations transporting coal to the Athens Municipal Gasworks and goods to the Central Office for the Management of National Products. Ioannis Moumtzoglou, one of its founders, also acted as its President.

In 1960, the business became independent and Ioannis Moumtzoglou, along with his son Leontios, pursued its development with the aim of providing high quality road transport services. In the early 1980’s, the company's management passed on to his son, Leontios and his son’s wife Argyro, who shared the same entrepreneurial and can-do spirit.

Leotrans has seen significant revenue growth ever since, which is attributable to internal growth with existing customers as well as the acquisition of new ones mainly through customer referrals. Our customers have always been our best ambassadors.

To this day, we continue to grow and flourish because of our ability to provide our clients with the utmost in value and customer service while always remaining committed to our values. This has afforded us a reputation for excellence, honesty and integrity and has resulted in trusting long-lasting relationships with our customers.

The family’s third generation who recently joined the business also places the utmost value on customer care and will remain committed to providing all-round services to its customers in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner for many years to come.
